As most trips start with planning meetings, Mel and I decided to start our trip in typical South African fashion .......
with rusks and hot chocolate and a combined meeting with both Grade 2 classes!
A wonderful colleague setting up the early morning rusks and hot chocolate |
Such excitement |
The children all had an opportunity to chat with each other before we started our planning!
What a wonderful birthday surprise for Shriya! |
Can I have one, Mrs Rayner? |
Glee! |
Nothing like dunking a rusk in hot chocolate! |
We then showed them a world map and discussed where we would travel. It was exciting to see their enthusiasm for the adventure ahead!
We settled down to focus on South Africa with a puzzle map of the various provinces which they then had to complete. The class is organised into a map of South africa and there are 6 groups named after the main provinces - at the moment the Free State have the most points!
Long may the fun last!
