Orals Sahiesh Geetali Siyabonga

The children are just loving these orals .... they are talking and chatting excitedly about who is doing what and what they are trying to prove.

Sahiesh started explaining why candles need air burn. He used big words such as 'COMBUSTION' . A simple experiment which he explained perfectly. A great oral, Sahies

Ready steady go

light the candles

place a glass over one

candle goes out!

Geetali did the same experiment but it was interesting to see how differently they both explained it. Geetali's candles were smaller so I didn't manage to capture it very well but  she achieved the aim of the experiment beautifully. Well done, Geetali

Let's get going ...

Sahiesh - the perfect gentleman -
lighting Geetali's candle for her.

the candle goes out once the glass jar covers it.

Siyabonga showed us that warm water is less dense than cold water and therefore will always rise to the top. The children loved watching the warm coloured water (it over time) mix with the cold water as it cooled. A good choice of experiment, Siyabonga.

Here we go........

add red food colouring to the warm water

lower the jar into the cold water

watch the red water rise to the top
