The wide mouth frog

Throughout the past two weeks we have been reading the story of The Big Wide Mouthed Frog......

My student , fondly known as Miss P , prepared a lovely lesson for the class today. Firstly we had a discussion about Australia ; where it was in relation to us , different time zones and continents and lastly a brief look at the animals. The children all were given Eucalyptus leaves to smell as that is all the Koala bears eat ....

Miss P then  read the story using some of the toys as props that the children had brought!

I just loved these "Australian" toys!

The children were divided into groups and they each had to act out a part of the story. They were delightful : Adenika deciding to hanging from the bench upside down while Josh made the most knobbly looking crocodile ever!

Eshile "puckering" his mouth!

A lovely "puckered" mouth Connor!

After that, they looked at a picture while Miss P asked questions relating to the picture. They had to decide whether, from the picture, they could answer the questions : True, False or Not Enough Evidence! A tricky concept for some of them!

Thank you Miss P for a lovely lesson.
