An elephant Day

Last week Friday, we had a wonderfully creative poetry day! We had discussed elephants - Pim had met a baby elephant - at length so the children were well aware of all their habits and what they looked like! They came up with some wonderful descriptive words. Having read them two poems we then embarked on writing their own. I was truly excited by their writings. Some of them even got the idea of rhyming. They typed them up on the computer and then pasted them onto elephants which we had made from paper plates and serviettes. Such a successful activity!
