Egypt Activities

Mel and I decided that the children all should start working on oral presentations at school. As a result ,we divided them into groups of 3 and then gave each group a piece of information which they had to read and work out how to present it. It was an interesting exercise with  all the children learning from the different presentations - and they were all so different ! Mel and I both wished we could repeat the exercise as we believe they would really  present some fantastic work second time round. I believe they will be better equipped to do something like that if the opportunity arises next year.

As there were five 'topics' which the children spoke about, Mel and I designed 5 activities to go with what they had learnt. They had 10 minutes at a station and then moved on. Great fun was had as I am sure you will see from the photos below!

Activity 1 : Wrapping up a mummy with toilet paper!

Activity 2 : Painting Egyptian faces

Activity 3: Making pyramids with jelly tots and toothpicks
