International Book Day

Thursday was International Book Day. As we have a Book theme this term Mel and I decided that it would be appropriate to celebrate this with our classes.

My class chose two of their favourite books which were 'Baboon's Nest' and 'Mice in the Kitchen'. We then presented them to the Grade 1 class. I was so proud of the way they asked them appropriate questions and acted out the " WOW" words. They even explained what ellipsis was! Such clever children!

From there we took the theme further and they made maths books! Mel and I had made a template and by cutting and folding they created their own booklets. The booklets had questions which they had to answer all around a number of their choice. Much fun was had by all and hopefully maths number concepts were explored in a fun way.
