Termite mound

Having found out all about termites and how they live in colonies Mel and I decided to build a class termite mound. This gave the children an idea of how each group was responsible for their job to be done so that the whole colony could work. We had three groups working:

- the first created the outline of the mound in pencil first and then had to tear up egg boxes to create the mound leaving space for the tunnels.

- the second group made finger print ants

-the last group made the aardvark

And we were so very proud of the outcome ..... a wonderful lesson in what can be achieved if we all work together!
