Off to ....Phuket

Monday morning saw Mel and I greeted enthusiastically by our Grade 2's all asking the question"Where are we going? Where are we going?" So once again they lined up to get their visas stamped ...

And this time saw them catch a boat! Before they left they had an instruction video explaining what to do in an emergency......

Mel had plotted the journey on Google earth but unfortunately the internet was down so we had to watch that at a later stage!

We arrived at our tiny island of PHUKET! ( Our theme for the next two weeks is the Ocean. We will be using the island of Phuket to explore topics relating to the theme eg diving, tsunamis etc before reading Jill Eggleton's book on the Giant Squid )

There was great excitement as we left the airport to our hotel rooms. We had booked three family rooms so the children quickly decided who would share rooms and then rearranged their desks so that their groups were adequately accommodated  ! They named their rooms: The Cruisers, The Waves and The Titanic Grave!!! It was then time for our bus trip down to the beachfront where we learnt all about diving and what divers do in the oceans.

Arriving!
