The world is abuzz with Soccer World Cup Fever and we in Grade 2R are no different! Mel and I organised a World Cup Assembly last week and all the Grades drew a country which was theirs to support for the duration of the World Cup! And we got ........

The children have been avidly watching at home and every morning I get an update! It really has been exciting especially when we saw Spain eliminated!
Mel and I realized that the children had no idea of how a knockout tournament worked so we set out to rectify the situation! We divide the children into groups of 4. Having done this they played a 'Beetle' type game - instead we made them draw a 'soccer man'! Great fun was had by all with the girls team beating the boys team in the final!
We then decided to hold a soccer knockout tournament on Friday with Grade1's, 2's and 3's all participating in mixed teams!
